Private Dance Lessons
One-to-one tuition tailored entirely to you — ideal for complete beginners who want to learn at their own pace.
Learn to Dance in a Relaxed, Private Setting
Not ready for a group class? No problem. Our private lessons are designed for people who want to build confidence before joining the social floor — or simply prefer a more personal approach.
Whether you have never danced before or just want to brush up on the basics, our experienced instructors will meet you exactly where you are and guide you step by step.
Notes for Private Beginners
Here is what to expect from your first private lesson at Salsa Zone:
No experience needed
Absolute beginners are warmly welcome. We start from scratch — footwork, timing, and basic hold — so you never feel lost or behind.
Wear comfortable shoes
Flat, smooth-soled shoes work best. Avoid thick rubber soles or trainers with heavy grip as they can make turning difficult. Dance shoes are not required for your first lesson.
Arrive a few minutes early
Give yourself time to settle in, ask any questions, and warm up gently before we begin. There is no rush — the session is yours.
We go at your pace
There is no syllabus to rush through. Your instructor will focus on what you find most useful and repeat anything you want to practise more.
Choose your dance style
Not sure which style to learn? We will help you choose between Salsa, Bachata, and Kizomba based on your goals and what you enjoy most.
Solo or with a partner
You can book a lesson on your own or bring a partner. Solo learners are paired with an instructor for the full session.
What to bring
Just yourself and a bottle of water. Wear something comfortable you can move in. We provide everything else.
After your lesson
We will suggest what to practise at home and recommend the best group class or social to attend next so you can put your new skills to use straight away.
Styles Available
Salsa
Energetic, rhythmic, and social. Salsa is one of the most popular Latin dances in the world and a great starting point for beginners.
Bachata
Romantic and expressive with a steady four-beat rhythm. Bachata is easy to pick up and hugely popular on the Brighton social scene.
Kizomba
Smooth, close-hold, and deeply connected. Kizomba is perfect for those who want a more flowing, intimate style of partner dance.
